How do I check out a book from Johnson County Public Library?

Instructions for books and eBooks/eAudiobooks can be found below:

For books (physical copies):

1. From the JoCo Library homepage, search the catalog using the toolbar at the top of the screen.

2. Once you find the item(s) you want, click “Place a Hold” and then choose which library you want to pick up your item(s) from.

3. When your item is available for pick up, you will receive an email.

FYI:  If you only have an eCard you will need to visit a library branch to fully set up your card.

For eBooks/eAudiobooks:

1. From the JoCo Library homepage, click on the “eLibrary” tab, and then click “eLibrary.”

2. Click “Go to eBooks from Axis 360.”

3. Log in with your account information and then search the catalog for the item(s) you want.  **Pay attention to the icon in the upper left corner of the book cover.  This will tell you if you are choosing an eBook or an eAudiobook.

4. If the item you want is available, it will say “Checkout” and the item will be available for immediate reading or listening.

5. If the item you want is unavailable, it will say “Place Hold.”  If you choose to place a hold, you will be notified via email when the item is available.

FYI: Axis 360 has an app available for download so you can read/listen to your book on your phone or tablet.
